With the punctual arrival of the UEX 1857 in Hamburg-Altona on 14.10.2018, the Urlaubs-Express successfully completed its second season. In total, the UEX carried more than 22,000 guests and more than 7,000 vehicles in the summer. A total of more than 260,000 railway kilometres were covered. The Urlaubs-Express team thanks all passengers for their trust and looks forward to seeing them again on the UEX trains in 2019.
After a short break, the UEX will resume operations on 21 December 2018. In winter, two trains (train 1 from Hamburg via Bremen, Hanover, Göttingen and train 2 from Münster via Dortmund, Essen, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Bonn and Koblenz, among others) will be used to reach Austria’s most beautiful ski resorts in the Zillertal and Salzburger Land.
With its many access options, the UEX offers the ideal opportunity to travel relaxed overnight to the ski area without ice or traffic jams on the motorway. With the favourable departure times on Friday evening, guests can save a day’s holiday or a stressful night drive in their own car. Those who like to have their vehicle with them are of course also welcome to use the Urlaubs-Express: From Hamburg and Düsseldorf to Munich East and vice versa it is possible to take the vehicle with you on the special car transport wagons that are carried at the end of the train.
